Hey everyone! Seeing as how we haven't updated the journal here in over a year (time sure flew this year!) I thought I'd advertise a new weekly project a lot of lolita blogs have started doing called 'Lolita Blog Carnival'.

"What is a Blog Carnival you ask? Simply put, it's a group of bloggers who all decide on a common topic to all blog about on the same day and then they follow up their post with a link to all the other blogger's posts about the topic. It's a great way to get involved with other Lolibloggers, get some blogging inspiration, and to promote some great blogs!"

The first topic picked was something I think a lot of you will find useful: Creating a complete lolita coordinate for under $100!

Here are a few blogs that had made entries:

F Yeah Lolita…
Darkly Darling…
Miss Lumpy…
Starry Dreams…
Parfait Doll…

(They link to many more, so check those out as well!)

I know there is a rule about no submitting fanart, but would one of Kamikaze Girls be allowed? Since Momoko is an actual lolita in the movie, and she's not wearing it as a costume but as the fashion it is. Thanks!

I submitted something what feels like about a week ago (I was a doof and didn't keep the notice about submission) and I haven't been on dA in years so I can't remember if when a submission is declined if you get a notice about that or not. Was it declined? Or have you just not gotten through submissions yet? I also wondered about how active this group is...but it seems like you've been active at least two months ago. Anyway, feedback would be lovely. c:

Hi! Most likely your submission just expired. I was unexpectedly away from the computer for a few weeks and, since I do the vast majority of the monitoring here, a lot of submissions expired during that time.  You'll have to resubmit anything you sent. Sorry for the trouble!

oh thankyou! don't worry about it! I can't think ill of you for being away from the computer. c:

Thank you so much for accepting me :) i just wonder one big important thing, can you wear Lolita no matter how old you are??

Cause its like its cute when your a teenager but if your in your 20`s people can find it childish. Im intrested in Lolita but too insecure to try out the look

You can read more extensive answers and opinions to this question here!

But generally, there are no age limits with lolita fashion. The vast majority of girls who wear the style are somewhere in their 20s.
It's an alternative fashion so you're almost guaranteed to get weird looks or have people who think it looks silly or 'childish' no matter what your age. It should be something you wear because you like it.

Cause i wanted to try the look out cause i think its adorable but then im gonna turn 23 this year and im like GOD IM TOO OLD!!

23 is definitely not too old to wear lolita fashion. In face many of the people wearing it are around this age because they are finally able to afford it compared to when they were younger.

I submitted a note over two weeks ago asking why my art was declined. Hope I hear an answer soon. Thanks!
